What this is
Electrical Wire Buyers Utah purchases surplus electrical wire and cable from businesses located in Utah. Not a scrap yard, not a distributor — a buyer for the reels that are sitting in your yard because the job changed.
Send the tag details and a few photos. If the material is a fit, we will talk pricing and logistics for your location, and arrange pickup or shipping when we agree.
Types of wire we buy
Five groups of material, one buyer
Organized the way a surplus list usually arrives: building wire first, then the industrial and signal cable, then the low voltage and the primary cable.
-
Building wire and common cable
The everyday conductors that wire a building: feeders, branch circuits, services and the grounding that ties it together.
-
Industrial cable
Cable built for trays, raceways and moving equipment in plants, mills and processing facilities.
-
Control and instrumentation cable
The small conductors that carry signals, interlocks and measurements between panels and equipment.
-
Low-voltage cable
Communication, fire alarm and limited-energy cable that comes off a project in boxes and spools.
-
Medium and high voltage cable
Shielded primary cable from 5kV through 69kV and above, the most valuable material on most surplus lists.
How selling works
Four steps, no guesswork
-
Submit the details and photos
Wire type, size, approximate footage, reel count, condition and where it sits. Photos of the reel tags do most of the work.
-
We review the material
We read the tags and the jacket print, check the sizes against what moves, and come back with questions if something is unclear.
-
We discuss pricing and logistics
A number based on the material, plus how it would be loaded, who arranges freight, and when it can move.
-
Pickup or shipping is arranged
Once we agree, we schedule the pickup or the shipment. Nothing moves until both sides have said yes.

Questions
Before you send photos
What kind of wire do you buy in Utah?
Electrical wire and cable only: building wire such as THHN, THWN and XHHW, MC and AC cable, tray and VFD cable, control and instrumentation cable, low-voltage and communication cable, bare and insulated copper, aluminum conductor, and medium and high voltage cable from 5kV up. We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery or general scrap.
Do you buy partial reels?
Yes. Most of what we quote is partial. Tell us roughly how much is left on each reel — an estimate is fine — and send a photo of the reel tag if it is still readable.
Do I need to deliver the wire?
No. Pickup or shipping is arranged once the material and the price are agreed. Tell us whether the site has a dock or forklift and whether a truck can get to the material.
What if I do not know the footage?
Send what you know. Reel count, reel diameter, or the weight from a scale ticket are all useful. Photos of the flange markings often carry the original length.
